Oval Block Office, New Bloklyn — After being directly appointed by the world’s creator, Aelorus, President Timeuw is now drafting a framework to transition power through democratic elections, marking a monumental step toward a functioning electoral system in the newly established United Blocks of America. As the first and currently only acting president — appointed with no technical end date — Timeuw has expressed his desire to step down once the nation is structurally complete, allowing a fully player-elected successor to take over.
Two-Term System Confirmed
According to early proposals reviewed by The Admin Council, presidential terms will follow a fixed monthly structure:
- Presidential elections will be held every first day of the month.
- Each president serves for one full month (real-time), with a maximum of two consecutive terms (totaling two or four months, depending on re-election).
- Once elected, the new president officially takes office on the first of the following month.
Example: If elections are held on December 1, the winner becomes president on January 1.
This slight delay allows for proper preparation, transition, and the announcement of the new presidential cabinet.
Cabinet Members and In-Game Roles
As part of the new system, every presidential candidate is required to submit a full cabinet list upon election. This includes the in-game usernames of:
- Ministers (Defense, Infrastructure, Trade, etc.)
- State Governors or regional appointees
- Any additional custom roles created per server needs
These appointees will receive functional roles and permissions in-game beginning on the first day of the president’s term.
Eligibility Requirements
To ensure leadership quality and server integrity, the following criteria will apply to all presidential candidates:
- Must meet a minimum in-game level (to be defined)
- Must have a recognized and stable Minecraft skin (no random/NSFW avatars)
- Must show a history of consistent gameplay activity
- Must not have any active bans or Admin strikes
While these conditions will be checked for technical validity, The Admin Council will not judge character or leadership style — that decision lies fully in the hands of the voting citizens.
“It’s up to the people to decide who should lead. The Admin Council only ensures they technically can,” President Timeuw said during a recent press statement.
Next Steps
The full voting system, including a player registration process, ballot access method (via books, signs, or plugin voting UI), and candidate declaration phase, is expected to be finalized before the first official elections take place.
Until then, President Timeuw remains the active executive, overseeing the setup of the electoral framework and server structure with support from fictional placeholder ministries — for now.
